Suspect Arrested in Tree Vandalism Case

The West Jordan Police Department has arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for a string of tree vandalisms.

On Sunday August 28th officers were dispatched to the Willow Cove Apartments located at 9300 South Redwood Road on a report of a male who was acting suspiciously. Upon arrival officers contacted 24 year old Wesley Pettis. While speaking with Pettis officers noted that he closely resembled the description of the person suspected in a recent string of tree vandalisms.

Through interviews and evidence collected, officers were able to positively link Pettis to four of the damaged trees, and he is suspected of being responsible for others as well.

The West Jordan Police Department received numerous tips and investigative leads from the public. These tips were crucial in identifying and locating this suspect. The West Jordan Police Department would like to thank the public for the information and support we received during this investigation.
