When you're dead,  you're dead. It's too late to learn what you needed to know. Be smart. Take an avalanche course to save your own neck and maybe your buddy too.

BRiGHTON offers this course. Learn to ride safely in avalanche terrain.

Course includes: Companion Rescue – Weather – Snowpack – Terrain – Route Finding – Gear Considerations – Human Factors

This course is designed specifically for recreational Skiers and Snowboarders with upper intermediate to advanced/expert riding skills. You should be able to negotiate your way down relatively steep open terrain with deep tracked powder.

Small tour groups to maximize your learning experience.

A lift ticket is not required.

Thursday, January 12, 5:15pm till approximately 9:30pm — indoor lecture

Saturday, January 14, 9:00am till approximately 4:00pm – outdoor field session

Avalanche beacon, probe and shovel required for this session.
Up-hill travel gear (split board or AT skis with skins) is not required, but is recommended.

Course fee of $100 is not due until the first day of the course.
50% discount for Brighton employees and Volunteer ski patrol
