India Fusion

A piece of India can now be found in West Jordan. The India Fusion Restaurant transports customers to the land of India through its rich colors, traditional decorations, authentic music and delicious food.

"Our ambiance is the best among all Indian restaurants," says owner BJ Singh. "We have a lot of cultural colors and pictures and nice seating. And we have belly dancers who come Friday nights."

But the best thing about India Fusion is the food. Everything is made fresh, with no preservatives or pre-frozen ingredients. "It's authentic Indian cuisine," BJ says, adding that it's the only Indian-style restaurant on the west side of the valley.

India Fusion is also the home of the hottest curry on planet Earth, BJ says. Phall Curry is so hot that customers who want to try it have to sign a disclaimer that they won't hold the restaurant responsible for any "physical or emotional damage" eating the curry will cause. Those who attempt to eat the curry, whether in a tofu, chicken, shrimp, lamb or fish dish, can earn a free dessert and their picture on the Wall of Phall if they finish the meal.

"We've had competitions where eight or 10 people try to finish [the curry] in 30 minutes," BJ says. "We're thinking of holding another one in May."

For those who prefer a meal they don't need a disclaimer for, India Fusion has a wide selection of dishes. Some of the most popular ones include the Chicken Ticca Masala, a tomato cream sauce over chicken with dried fenugreek leaves, and the Chicken Vindaloo, a curry with potatoes in a spicy, tangy gravy.

"We have a survey that customers fill out and a lot of them have said how wonderful the dining out experience was," BJ says. "One said they won't go to any other Indian restaurant. Another told us they love the music and will recommend us to others."

India Fusion is celebrating its two-year anniversary in April. BJ is planning to have specials on some of the meals to celebrate. Currently, a to-go box lunch can be prepared for as little as $4.99 and the lunch buffet, which includes three appetizers, seven entrees, fresh, homemade bread, salad, dessert and appetizers, is $8.99. The dinner buffet is $12.99.

India Fusion is located at 7726 South Campus View Drive and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. For more information, call 801-280-5459 or visit www.IndiaFusionRestaurant.com.
