World Cup speedskating coming to Utah Olympic Oval

The Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns will once again host a long track World Cup speedskating event. The Essent ISU Long Distance World Cup 7 takes place Feb. 18-19 at the Oval, 5662 South Cougar Lane.

Among those slated to compete are two-time Olympic champ Shani Davis, 2010 Olympic silver medalists Brian Hansen and Trevor Marsicano, 2010 Olympian and current world cup leader in the 1000 meters Heather Richardson, and 2010 Olympians Ryan Bedford, Jilleane Rookard and Maria Lamb.

The event is free and open to the public. Races begin at noon each day.
