Local college students honored

Tiffany Rasmussen and Troy Stoudt, both of West Jordan, have been named to the Dean’s List at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. To be named to the dean's list, a student must have completed 12 semester hours in a 16-week period and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a four-point scale.

Columbia College is a private, nonprofit, liberal arts and sciences institution.

Kandace Newren and Angeleen Wager, both of West Jordan, have earned master’s degrees in library science from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. They were honored during graduation ceremonies on Dec. 17.

The Entertainment Software Association Foundation has selected Mavin Martin of West Jordan, as a 2011 scholarship recipient. Martin is one of 30 women and minority students across the nation who received a $3,000 scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year. The scholarship will go toward Martin’s education at the University of Utah as she pursues a career in computer and video game development.
