The totals are impressive. Over $15,000 was raised and 1,139 toys donated by students at West Jordan High School. The fundraising was part of this year’s charity drive which went to help support the Toys for Tots program and the Utah Food Bank.
The new, unwrapped toys were donated by individual students as well as members of the community. Student Body officers hosted a Penny War competition that alone brought in $1,700. The Winter Choral Concert sold out, bringing in $7,000 for the cause.
All of the money raised went to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program to help provide gifts for local children and their families during the holiday. Last year, the students supported the Child Rescue program, which went toward local police training.
