The West Jordan Senior Center is located at 8025 South 2200 West. Phone 801-561-7320 or visit www.westjordanseniorcenter.com for more information. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with lunch served at 11:45 a.m. for a suggested donation of $2.50 for anyone 60 and over. Lunches are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. We also offer an alternative lunch daily without a reservation. 

Looking for a volunteer opportunity?  The center needs some front desk volunteers. We could also use some help in the kitchen from about 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you have any skills you would like to share, please give us a call and ask for Lisa.

Oct. 21 and Oct. 22. -- The Annual Holiday Boutique. This is a great time to come in and get some homemade gifts for the holidays. 

Oct. 22, 8:30 a.m.; $2. -- Waffle Breakfast. The menu includes waffles, sausage, fruit, juice, milk and coffee. 

Oct. 23, 1 p.m. -- Days for Girls Humanitarian Project. All materials are provided. Volunteers  are needed that can trace and cut out patterns. Also needed are people who can sew and are willing to bring their machines to help out. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Lisa.

Oct. 28, 10 a.m. -- Pumpkin Decorating. Pumpkins and materials to decorate with will be provided. Get your pumpkins ready for the contest at the Halloween party.

Oct. 29, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. -- Senior Education Day. Attorney General Sean Reyes is the guest dignitary. He will speak at 9:30 a.m. Over 20 resource providers will be here including: the Arthritis Foundation, Personal In-Home Care Co., Caring Connections, American First, Hospice for Utah, Larkin, Legal Shield, Medicaid, Medicare, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, United Way, Police, Relay Utah, Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services, Salt Lake County Library, Serenity Funeral Home, Social Security, Fire Department, Council for the Blind and more. 

Oct. 31, 10:30 a.m. -- Annual Halloween Bash. The center will have a pumpkin-decorating contest, a costume contest, games and prizes. Special Halloween treats will be given to everyone coming for lunch that day.

Nov. 4, 10 a.m. -- AARP Driver Safety Class. This class helps you become a safer driver and saves you money on your car insurance. Please register at the front desk. There is a discount for AARP members; please bring your membership card with you.
