The first part of this course is scheduled for Thursday, December 18th from 5:30pm until approximately 9:00pm at Brighton Resort in the Millicent Chalet at the base of the Millicent lift.  This will be an indoor lecture.

The second part of the course is  scheduled for Saturday, December 20th.  We will meet in the Millicent Chalet at 9:00am for an all day outdoor field session that will last till approximately 4:00pm. You will not need a lift ticket.

What to bring: You will need an avalanche beacon, probe, and shovel for the Saturday session.  If you don't have this gear, or can't make arrangements to borrow or rent it, please let us know the first day of class.  We have a few extra sets of gear we can lend.  We also recommend you bring a sack lunch and water.  You will be leaving the Brighton boundaries in the morning and may not return again until mid-afternoon.

While up-hill travel gear (split board or AT skis with skins) is not required, we do recommend you bring it if you have it to maximize your learning experience, even if you've never used it before.  Gear can be rented at Wasatch Touring, REI and many other places in the valley.  We will divide the class into groups with similar capabilities/equipment.  Again, if you do not have up-hill gear, it will not be a problem.  Regardless of your gear, snowshoes are not necessary.

Registration is required by contacting [email protected]. The cost is $90 payable by check or cash the first day of the course and includes a lift ticket.

Questions: Please send them to [email protected]
